Saw the movie a few weeks ago and just finished the novel this morning. Both were excellent entertainment and I found the actual adaptation to be extremely well paced. The literal last chapter addition of a love story in the novel was a little less than ideal but who knows if this was due to the translation or an effect of market driven publishing edits. Do the Japanese Sci-Fi publishers require a love story in every single piece of literature like their Western counterparts do?
Having finished Bioshock Infinite yesterday and starting Metro Last Light today it seems like time/reality bending entertainment is the theme for the month.
